The First Landing of Christopher Columbus in America is wonderfully displayed in this 1892 lithograph featuring Columbus giving thanks to God upon his discovery. The Nina, Pinta & Santa Maria are in the background. It is from The American Continent & Its Inhabitants Before Columbus.-Also the story of its invasion by Spain, France & England. Engraving by Gebbie & Husson Co. from the original drawing by D. Puebla. Print is on 19th Century heavy white woven paper with some discoloration around the outer edges and a water stain in the lower right margin. The matted finished product is gorgeous with a brownish tint. This print measures approx. 11 3/4" x 8 1/2" and is in Very Good condition. Matte sold separately.
A note on the source: This history of the American Continent and the European Invasion was originally offered as a 30 part history lesson for the young.
